Meet the visionary leader behind Prison To Purpose’s transformative mission.

“I am a Senior Human Resources Specialist by trade. I have enjoyed an exciting career in learning how to manage areas of staffing, recruitment, training, and development. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the esteemed University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) and a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management from Keller Graduate School.
I am also a Life Mentor and a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated. Over the 20 years that I’ve spent in the “people business,” I’ve learned that having a heart for people’s success is the key to my real happiness. I am a self-proclaimed “mama bear.” My heart desires to help people grow and be the best versions of themselves.
Although I love my career, I’ve always felt that I was destined to do more. I started to reflect inwardly on a mission to discover my true calling. My answer was shocking but, to be perfectly honest, it excited my soulIn obedience to my heart, I was led to volunteer in prison ministry in 2016. I started at an all-male Federal Correction Institute, where we facilitated a 13-week class on a variety of integral subjects necessary to rehabilitate thought processes and position the participants for success upon release.
In 2017, I was asked to be the keynote speaker for the September graduating class. Later, I moved to Lew Sterrett in Dallas, where we taught similar classes for women. I felt that, although I was enjoying working inside the prison, I needed to do more for those who were being newly released. I went back into my space of introspection and that’s where Prison to Purpose was born. This organization is my passion, and I am elated about the lives my organization will positively impact.”
Prison to Purpose’s mission is to be a support system for individuals in transition from prison, back into society and into their new purpose.
